Community Guidelines

PupPair is built for pet owners who want to connect, socialise, and build community. These guidelines keep our platform safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone — including the four-legged members.

1. Respect Every Member

Treat others as you would want to be treated. Harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, or threats of any kind are not tolerated. This includes content targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

2. Keep Pets Safe

• Never share content depicting animal cruelty or neglect.
• Do not promote unethical breeding practices.
• Report any profiles that appear to engage in animal exploitation.
• Breeding and rehoming intent requires honest legal declarations — misrepresentation will result in immediate suspension.

3. Be Honest

• Use real photos of yourself and your pets.
• Do not impersonate other users, businesses, or public figures.
• Provide accurate information about your pet's breed, age, health, and temperament.
• Verified badges are earned through our identity verification process — do not fake them.

4. No Spam or Commercial Abuse

PupPair is a social platform, not a marketplace. Unsolicited advertising, MLM schemes, scams, or repetitive promotional messages are prohibited. Legitimate pet-related businesses can apply through our Advertise With Us programme.

5. Protect Privacy

• Do not share other users' personal information without consent.
• Do not screenshot or distribute private messages publicly.
• Respect location privacy — never attempt to pinpoint someone's exact location.
• Profile scraping and data harvesting are strictly prohibited.

6. Meetup Safety

• Meet in public, well-lit areas for first encounters.
• Ensure all pets are appropriately vaccinated before meetups.
• Respect other owners' boundaries — if they say no, respect it.
• Report any unsafe or concerning behaviour during or after meetups.

7. Content Standards

All content shared on PupPair must be:

• Appropriate for a general audience.
• Free from explicit, violent, or graphic material.
• Relevant to pets, pet ownership, or community socialising.

8. Reporting & Enforcement

If you see something that violates these guidelines, report it immediately. Our moderation team reviews all reports:

• P0 — Immediate threats: Reviewed within 1 hour.
• P1 — Harassment: Reviewed within 4 hours.
• P2 — Spam/policy: Reviewed within 24 hours.
• P3 — Minor issues: Reviewed within 48 hours.

Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent bans depending on severity. Appeals are handled by a separate reviewer.

9. Under 18 Policy

PupPair is for users aged 18 and older. Accounts found to belong to minors will be immediately suspended in accordance with our Terms of Service.

10. Updates

These guidelines may be updated periodically. Continued use of PupPair constitutes acceptance of the most recent version. We will notify users of significant changes via in-app notification or email.
